Abstract

Future ubiquitous wireless access networks are expected to face increasing demand for bandwidth.  Traditional cellular (telephone) networks will have difficulty in satisfying such increased demand, because they cannot utilize high radio frequencies such as 5-50 GHz.

In this talk, I will introduce a new ubiquitous wireless access network called a cellular wireless mesh network (CMESH).  A CMESH is organized in multi-radio, multi-channel, multi-rate and multi-hop radio cells, each served by a single gateway.
